Summary
Marine The tireless efforts of mammal veterinarian Frances Gulland to glean tissues and knowledge from hundreds of whales, dolphins and seals strandings in the world have made her an important figure among scientists of marine mammals. But its influence goes beyond pure research. It helped turn a rehabilitation center, once asleep in a science center and the dynamic conservation, globally recognized and become a counselor as president-elect policymakers, weighing on thorny issues such as cash management endangered. His team demonstrated the role of a potentially fatal algae toxin in sea lions, shed light on cancers of marine mammals and infectious diseases, and convinced many that the health of marine mammals is a good indicator of the health of our oceans.
