How can we be aware of eating healthy during the barbecue season summer

Follow these tips for grilling heart healthy.

  • Avoid or limit fatty meats.
  • Grill more fish. Salmon, trout and herring have healthy omega-3 fatty acids for heart.
  • Go for chicken breasts instead of dark meat.
  • Grill dense vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant, peppers and corn.
  • Grill on the grid, so that the fat drops away from the food.

What should we consider to stay heart healthy this summer?

Nurse Rose: As we all know, the food on the grill is not the only temptation to barbecue. It is important to be aware of side dishes, drinks and condiments as well.
