The cost of obesity
Obesity is an ongoing problem in our country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines obesity as a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30. BMI measures the health based on height and weight.
According to (GW) of George Washington School of Public Health and Health Services, 35.7 percent of American adults are obese. In 2012, the CDC reported that 27.1 percent of the population of Maryland in 2010 was obese.

"It is a disease that increases the risk of many diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. There is also a correlation with the increased prevalence of cancer."
