Time to man and take control of your health! June is the Month of Men's Health, a national movement to increase awareness of preventable health problems and encourage the detection and treatment of disease among men and boys early.

Men are 24% less likely than women to visit the doctor. Lack of insurance, thinking that nothing is wrong, and negative experiences in the context of health care are some reasons why men can decide not to visit the doctor's office. The absence of this disease search behavior contributes to the three major and preventable causes of death in men :. Heart disease, cancer, unintentional injuries

With the approach of Father's Day, make a commitment and to encourage men in your life to take the following decisions in good health as recommended by the United States. Ministry of Health and Social Services

  • Get screening tests to find diseases early. Find out which screenings are appropriate for your age HERE.
