Stroke - Every Second Counts, do you know the signs

Stroke is the fourth? leading cause of death and the leading cause of adult disability in the United States.

A blow cut the vital blood flow and oxygen to the brain. It occurs when a blood vessel to the brain is blocked by a clot or bursts. When this happens, part of the brain can not get the blood and oxygen it needs, it starts to die.

The treatment should begin as soon as possible after a stroke as possible for the best results. Every second counts, so it's important to know the signs. Call 9-1-1 immediately if you or someone you know shows any of these signs of a stroke:

  • sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
